The Devil's Marbles were a welcome distraction on a long day on the road. Getting the boys to move a couple of them around helped to expend some pent up energy...bet nobodyever thought of that before....

Mataranka Springs were initially a bit dissapointing as we went to the main spring and it was all cement and the surrounting forrst was badly denuded by Flying Foxes and just generally rundown. However, the next morning we went to another spring "Bitter Springs" and thought it was fabulous. It consisted of a number of linked pools covering 100-150 metres and between 2 and 5 metres wide. They were absolutely crystal clear with lots of fish and some turtles too. We couldn't get the boys out of the water. They would jump in at the top, drift down with the current, climb out and run back to the top again.
We all came away thinking this place a real highlight.
